Per Dave Matter, it's nothing serious. "Newsom, the Tigers' expected starter at strongside linebacker, was in a red jersey during Friday's morning practice with what's been diagnosed as a strained left shoulder. It's uncertain when the junior from Parkway North will be available to practice."

The injuries have been popping up left and right, with everybody from receivers (Wes Leftwich, J'Mon Moore, Johnathon Johnson) to linebackers (Newsom) to kickers (Andrew Baggett) out for one ailment or another. Thus far, only Johnson's (a severely sprained ankle) seems to be anything more than day-to-day. Let's keep it that way.
