Injuries force shakeups for Missouri's depth chart at WR and OL

Missouri has released its depth chart and game notes for Saturday's game against South Carolina (11 a.m. CT, SECN). No, there are no changes at the quarterback position, but injuries and ineffectiveness have prompted shuffling elsewhere.

Offense

QB
Maty Mauk (6'0, 195, Jr.) -- 57-for-110 (52%), 654 yards, 6 TD, 4 INT, 5 sacks (5.5 yards/att); 31 carries, 165 yards (5.3), 1 TD
Drew Lock (6'4, 205, Fr.) -- 15-for-25 (60%), 225 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT, 2 sacks (7.6 yards/att); 1 carry, 11 yards
Eddie Printz (6'3, 205, So.) *OR*
Marvin Zanders (6'1, 185, RSFr.)

As presumed, there has been no change at the quarterback position, where Mauk will still be tasked with making something out of nothing more than Lock.

RB
Russell Hansbrough (5'9, 195, Sr.) -- 13 carries, 49 yards (3.8); 2 targets, 1 catch, 7 yards (3.5)
Ish Witter (5'10, 190, So.) -- 53 carries, 187 yards (3.5); 11 targets, 7 catches, 46 yards (4.2)
Tyler Hunt (5'11, 210, Sr.) -- 10 carries, 32 yards (3.2); 4 targets, 4 catches, 166 yards (41.5), 1 TD
Chase Abbington (6'2, 215, So.) -- 4 carries, 18 yards (4.5)

No shuffling here, though Morgan Steward is officially out for the season. Again. Pinkel said a couple of days ago that they would be applying for a medical redshirt on his behalf. But while Hansbrough wasn't able to give much on Saturday in Lexington, he gave a little and will try to give a little more this week.

WR-X
J'Mon Moore (6'3, 190, So.) -- 27 targets, 13 catches, 154 yards (5.7), 2 TD
Eric Laurent (6'2, 215, Jr.) -- 1 target, 1 catch, 4 yards
Keyon Dilosa (6'3, 200, RSFr.) -- 7 targets, 6 catches, 49 yards (7.0)

WR-H
Nate Brown (6'3, 205, So.) -- 19 targets, 11 catches, 159 yards (8.4), 2 TD
Ray Wingo (5'11, 180, RSFr.) -- 5 targets, 3 catches, 23 yards (4.6)
Cam Hilton (6'0, 180, Fr.)
DeSean Blair (6'3, 190, RSFr.) -- 3 targets, 1 catch, 21 yards (7.0)

WR-Z
Wesley Leftwich (6'1, 205, Sr.) -- 13 targets, 6 catches, 88 yards (6.8)
Emanuel Hall (6'3, 200, Fr.) -- 6 targets, 2 catches, 12 yards (2.0)
Thomas Richard (6'1, 190, RSFr.) -- 2 targets, 1 catch, 4 yards (2.0)

TE
Sean Culkin (6'6, 245, Jr.) -- 14 targets, 12 catches, 101 yards (7.2)
Clayton Echard (6'5, 260, Sr.) -- 1 target, 0 catches *OR*
Jason Reese (6'5, 250, So.) -- 8 targets, 4 catches, 45 yards (5.6)
Kendall Blanton (6'6, 250, RSFr.)

The receiving corps has been shuffled around quite a bit. The starters remain the same, but DeSean Blair is still out after the concussion that he received in a car wreck right before the UConn game, and Sean Culkin is out because of the ankle injury he suffered at Kentucky. That means that Echard and Reese will split time with the first string, as they did after Culkin's Saturday injury.

One other thing to mention here: Cam Hilton! He was spotted in warming up with the receivers before Saturday's game, and he has apparently made the Wingo Switch -- after being listed as a safety on last week's two-deep, he's now listed as a receiver. Also: Dilosa and Richard have been demoted to third string in favor of Laurent, Wingo, and Hall. One could see that coming with Wingo getting targeted multiple times last week. Laurent and Hall are a bit more of a surprise.

LT
Connor McGovern (6'4, 305, Sr.) -- 32 career starts
Malik Cuellar (6'5, 300, Jr.)

LG
Brad McNulty (6'4, 305, Sr.) -- 15 career starts *OR*
Alec Abeln (6'3, 290, So.) -- 2 career starts

C
Evan Boehm (6'3, 310, Sr.) -- 44 career starts
Sam Bailey (6'5, 280, RSFr.)

RG
Mitch Hall (6'5, 310, Sr.) -- 8 career starts
Kevin Pendleton (6'4, 315, RSFr.)

RT
Nate Crawford (6'5, 310, So.) -- 4 career starts
Taylor Chappell (6'5, 305, Sr.) -- 12 career starts
Paul Adams (6'6, 290, RSFr.)

The injury bug struck Mizzou's already shaky line on Saturday, too. Nate Crawford is out, meaning Chappell moves back to right tackle while McNulty and Abeln will split time at LG. That was the move we assumed we would see, though yes, part of us wished for Chappell's move outside to be followed by McGovern's move back inside. Alas.

Defense

DE
Walter Brady (6'3, 255, RSFr.) -- 8.0 tackles, 5.5 TFL (3 sacks)
Marcell Frazier (6'5, 265, So.) -- 4.0 tackles, 2.5 TFL

DT
Terry Beckner Jr. (6'4, 300, Fr.) -- 6.0 tackles, 3 TFL, 1 PBU
A.J. Logan (6'2, 310, So.) -- 2.5 tackles, 1 TFL, 1 FF
Josh Moore (6'5, 280, Fr.) -- 1.0 tackles

NG
Josh Augusta (6'4, 345, Jr.) -- 5.0 tackles, 2 TFL, 1 PBU
Rickey Hatley (6'4, 300, Jr.) -- 5.0 tackles, 1.5 TFL

DE
Charles Harris (6'3, 255, So.) -- 15.5 tackles, 9.5 TFL (3 sacks), 1 FF
Nate Howard (6'4, 240, Fr.) -- 3.0 tackles, 1.5 TFL
Spencer Williams (6'3, 245, RSFr.)

No changes here, and with good reason. Saturday was a disappointing game by this line's suddenly lofty standards, but the Tigers were still in the backfield quite a bit.

WLB
Kentrell Brothers (6'1, 235, Sr.) -- 39.0 tackles, 3 TFL, 2 INT, 1 PBU -- questionable
Joey Burkett (6'2, 210, So.) -- 6.0 tackles

MLB
Michael Scherer (6'3, 230, Jr.) -- 17.5 tackles, 4 TFL, 1 PBU
Brandon Lee (6'2, 220, RSFr.) -- 0.5 tackles, 1 PBU

SLB
Donavin Newsom (6'2, 230, Jr.) -- 15.0 tackles, 3 TFL (1 sack), 1 PBU
Clarence Green (6'0, 220, Sr.) -- 12.0 tackles, 0.5 TFL
Terez Hall (6'2, 215, Fr.) -- 1.0 tackles

Praise the heavens, Kentrell Brothers is only listed as questionable. We'll see what he has to offer this coming Saturday, but "questionable" beats "out for the season."

CB
Kenya Dennis (5'11, 200, Sr.) -- 12.5 tackles, 1 TFL (1 sack), 1 PBU
John Gibson (6'0, 190, Jr.) -- 5.0 tackles, 1 INT, 1 PBU

CB
Aarion Penton (5'10, 190, Jr.) -- 15.0 tackles, 1.5 TFL, 2 PBU, 1 FF
Logan Cheadle (5'10, 180, So.) -- 3.0 tackles
Anthony Hines (6'1, 190, So.)

No changes here.

SS
Anthony Sherrils (6'0, 190, So.) -- 15.0 tackles, 1 TFL, 1 INT, 1 FF
Thomas Wilson (5'10, 190, So.) -- 3.5 tackles, 0.5 TFL

FS
Ian Simon (6'0, 195, Sr.) -- 10.5 tackles, 2 PBU
Cortland Browning (6'1, 205, Sr.) -- 4.0 tackles
Tavon Ross (6'0, 200, RSFr.) -- 1.5 tackles

Other than removing Hilton's name, there were no changes here either. Simon is apparently expected to be back after Saturday's presumed head injury.

Special Teams

K
Andrew Baggett (6'1, 215, Sr.) -- 9-9 PAT, 5-5 FG under 40, 1-2 FG over 40

P
Corey Fatony (5'11, 185, Fr.) -- 24 punts, 43.9 average (10 fair caught, 11 inside 20)

KR
John Gibson (6'0, 190, Jr.) -- 1 KR, 9 yards
Finis Stribling IV (5'11, 175, RSFr.)
Ray Wingo (5'11, 180, RSFr.)

PR
Aarion Penton (5'10, 190, Jr.) -- 9 PR, 9.1 average, 1 TD, 7 fair catches *OR*
Cam HIlton (6'1, 180, Fr.)

Missouri's destitute return game has seen a shakeup. Anthony Sherrils has been removed from the list of kick returners, which is now topped by Gibson and two redshirt freshmen. Sherrils was very hesitant in his returns and was replaced by Gibson late, so this isn't a total surprise. It could be interesting to see either of the two speedy freshmen getting a shot, though. Meanwhile, in punt returns, Penton still tops the list but will share duties with Hilton, who has replaced Thomas Wilson and is listed as co-No. 1.
