With Missouri's football season wrapping up, recruiting will steal more oxygen again

Here are today's Mizzou Links.

The season must be hitting the home stretch because we've got an official visit to talk about.

PowerMizzou: Chris Turner heads to Missouri this weekend

Turner attended this summer's Night at the Zou event and is a low- to mid-three-star prospect per the 247Sports Composite. He is a lanky 6'4, 225 pounds and is listed as either a DE or OLB in different places.

We quickly begin to understand the problem with labels like this. Half of his highlight film is showing off his relentless pass rush, pinning his ears back and pursuing. Not a lot of "reading" there. Regardless, I think Missouri will absolutely "change back" in the spring. Barry Odom's defensive vision is what we saw earlier in the season -- Mizzou just wasn't good enough to pull it off yet.

"Changing back," as it were, resulted in a better performance up front against South Carolina, but I really wouldn't think it's a long-term shift at all. It was just something to get guys playing better this year. (That's part of the reason why I didn't love making the change, even if it seems to have resulted in a little short-term improvement. You're coaching for 2017 right now; do what you can to make 2017 better.)

Since Turner has been to Columbia before, and since his offer list is a mid-major "Who's who" without any other power-conference offers listed, I would figure there are pretty good odds he commits either this weekend or soon after.
