4-star cornerback Terry Petry flips commitment from Houston to Missouri

The Tigers have been hot on the Missouri City DB’s trail for a while. On Wednesday, it paid off.

Terry Petry, a 5’11, 180-pound cornerback from Missouri City, Texas, officially flipped his commitment from Houston to Missouri on Wednesday.

Petry is a four-star prospect and the No. 36 recruit in Texas per Rivals.com and a mid-three-star (No. 75 in the state) per the 247Sports Composite. He committed to Tom Herman’s Cougars long ago, in November 2015, but Missouri had been working on him for quite a while. When Herman left to take the Texas job, Mizzou’s work paid off.

He becomes the second Rivals four-star to commit to Mizzou in the 2017 class, joining Kansas City receiver DaRon Davis.

Petry’s Hudl highlights can been seen above. What stands out in first view is his ability to change direction without losing much speed.

Missouri City Ridge Point is a Class 7 Texas high school, so Petry will come to Columbia having been relatively well-tested at the high school level. He will look to crack the depth chart quickly at a position in which Missouri will be replacing both starters.

WELCOME, TERRY.
