When it rains, it pours for the Missouri Tigers men’s basketball program. After announcing the departure of promising freshman Willie Jackson, the Tigers followed that up by losing to a Lipscomb team that hadn’t beaten a power 5 conference opponent since 2009 (Indiana).
Following the 81-76 loss, student athletes Jordan Barnett and Jordan Geist accompanied head coach Kim Anderson for the post-game media session. Below are the highlights of the press conference:
- Anderson opened the press conference by addressing Willie Jackson transferring.
- From there, KA explains that Frankie Hughes was held out of the Lipscomb game for missing every practice since the Illinois game. Anderson went on to say that after having two conversations with Hughes, Hughes assured Anderson that he still wanted to play for Missouri.
- Barnett and Geist both discussed the Cleveland duo and neither seemed pleased. Both players said that they came to Missouri to win and that is it. They are only worried about the guys that are with the team and want to win.
