Mizzou Football standouts Aarion Penton (St. Louis, Mo.) and Charles Harris (Kansas City, Mo.) were named All-SEC by the league's 14 head coaches, announced Tuesday (Dec. 6). Penton led the SEC with five interceptions and earned a spot on the All-SEC First Team at defensive back while Harris was named to the All-SEC Second Team at defensive end after posting a team-high nine sacks. This marks the first time that Penton has earned All-SEC honors while Harris earns second team distinction for the second consecutive season.

This seems about right, yeah? Drew Lock was pretty good but never really torched a standout defense. Damarea Crockett was awesome but didn't start the whole year and ... well ... Leonard Fournette was on the SEC second team. There are some good RBs in this league.
You could raise a beef with J'Mon Moore (1,012 receiving yards, 8.2 per target) not being on the first or second team after leading the SEC in receiving, but the second-teamers were Alabama's Calvin Ridley (763, 7.4) and Mississippi State's Fred Ross (873, 8.0), and ... okay, yeah, definitely raise a beef with that. But unfortunately for Moore, he seemed to finally become a consistent, steady threat over the last three weeks or so ... long after most had stopped paying attention to Mizzou. (This might have worked in Aarion Penton's favor, too. He finished strong but had a three- to four-week funk there in late-October and into November.)
Mizzou's offensive line was pretty successful, too, but the fact that the Tigers didn't have a lineman listed wasn't too surprising -- there wasn't a consensus standout. Paul Adams was close and could expect to threaten for honors next year, but ... that's fine. Keep the big guys up front motivated.
