Baseball starts ... Friday in Florida
The Trib: MU baseball team hasn't forgotten bitter end to last season
Post-Dispatch: Buzz building for Mizzou baseball
Post-Dispatch: Houck emerges as Mizzou's next pitching star
With a two-seam fastball that touched 96 miles per hour last fall, Houck also throws a breaking ball that buckles the knees of righthanded hitters. In the offseason he further developed a changeup he rarely threw last spring. Houck, who doesn’t turn 20 until June 29, has the natural skill that reminds Mizzou coaches of their past pitching greats. It’s why national publications have already named Houck the No. 1 prospect for the 2017 major league draft.

The Trib (David Morrison): A Few Good Minutes with...Shane Ray
Did you have a favorite quarterback that you’ve hit this year?
"I’d say Tom Brady. Definitely Tom Brady. I enjoyed hitting Tom. That was fun for me. It’s always fun to see a quarterback’s reaction when you hit him, and I think I hit Brady maybe three or four times that game. And he was just looking at me like, ‘Who is this guy? And why is he hitting me?’ So that was a good feeling for me."
Did you and Cam exchange any words in the Super Bowl?
"No, the thing is Cam didn’t really do a lot of talking on the field. Maybe a couple of times after a couple of hits. But on the field you could tell he was really just focused on trying to help his team win the game. I give him respect for that, especially after the game. He came up and shook everybody’s hand. You’ve got to respect that. But there wasn’t a lot of talking going on from him. Maybe some other players were talking, but Cam really kept to himself."
