Interestingly enough these two teams are fairly similar to each other offensively, not particularly efficient, but Ole Miss grabs more offensive rebounds which helps them out. And they've got Stefan Moody.
MUST READ
Last time these two teams met, Mizzou had Ole Miss beat with a few minutes remaining and some defensive lapses late left Tomasz Gielo open at the wrong time. The Rebels came back to beat the Tigers 76-73 in that game, which was the 7th of a nine game losing streak. However the losing streak is over, and the Tigers are 2-1 since, but their one loss was their last game which also... happened to be on the road.
It's hard to like this game as a win for the Tigers, Moody is a great player, and probably enough to overcome whatever Mizzou has to throw at him since the Rebels are playing in their fancy new digs. KenPom projects a 77-66 loss for Mizzou, and the Tigers need to do better than that in order to move up in KenPoms rankings. It would be nice to get back into the mid 160s, and they don't even have to win to do that. Anyway, join us for the discussion, I'll take Ole Miss straight up, but by a smaller margin than 11. We'll say Rebels 74, Missouri 69. M-I-Z!
