Holmes is an under-the-radar guy. He has been given a low-two-star rating from both Rivals.com and the 247 Composite. His biggest other offers were from Cincinnati and Memphis, and his profile wasn't in the process of erupting like Williams' was.
That said ... look at his film. It's not hard to see what Gary Pinkel and staff see in this guy.
Insert caveat about lesser competition here, but he is a lanky long-strider and a confident runner. He'll have to be properly taught what he can and can't get away with at the FBS level, but Pinkel and company are pretty good at that. One other bonus: he is the cousin of current Mizzou starting corner Kenya Dennis. Not a bad role model.
Is both fast and elusive and can tie in positive strength. These qualities lead to a knack for taking a short pass and turning it into a long gain. He can score from anywhere.
