Bouncing back: Defensive dominance - Pete Scantlebury @ PowerMizzou.com
Instead of being known for a high flying offense (SEE: The Chase Daniel Years; 2013), the Tigers are now known as a defense-first team. Last year, in a disappointing 5-7 year, the defense was superb. The Tigers finished fifth nationally in scoring defense (16.2 PPG) while being on the field for nearly 33 minutes per game (12th nationally -- and that's not a good 12).
In 2014, which resulted in an SEC East title for Missouri, the Tigers finished 20th nationally in scoring defense.
Now, the Tigers look to 2016 to continue that defensive dominance as the offense looks to even out the scales. To see how likely it is that Missouri can maintain its defensive excellence over a three-year period, we broke down the top 20 scoring defenses in the nation every year since 2008, and looked for teams that appeared on the list in consecutive years.
Defense wins championships, and Mizzou has had a championship-level defense for the past two seasons. If the trend continues, odds are the Tigers are in for a nice rebound.

14. Missouri Tigers
Once upon a time, the Missouri Tigers offense featured bruising running back Henry Josey, dynamic dual-threat quarterback James Franklin and a bevy of wide receivers including Dorial Green-Beckham.
Track and Field to migrate south
Track and Field set for Florida Relays - MUTigers.com
This year marks the 76th running of the Florida Relays, hosted by the University of Florida at their James G. Pressly Stadium. Historically one of the most distinguished fields of the outdoor season for collegiate track and field, this year's competition will not disappoint as some of the top teams in the nation descend upon Gainesville. Included among their number are nine fellow-SEC programs including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, South Caroline, Tennessee and Vanderbilt.
RANKED FIELD (M // W) - Alabama (No. 6 // No. 23), Florida (No. 3 // No. 10), Florida State (-- // No. 14), Georgia (No. 11 // No. 6), Kentucky (-- // No. 9), Louisville (No. 24 // --), Miami (-- // No. 21), Michigan State (-- // No. 20), Mississippi State (-- // No. 11), Penn State (No. 19 // --), South Carolina (No. 10 // --), Virginia (No. 8 // --), Virginia Tech (No. 14 // No. 18)
Whew, that field. As is the case with the majority of the warm-weather sports, the SEC is absolutely stacked. Good luck, runners/jumpers/hurdlers/vaulters/throwers. May the winds be stronger behind you than they are your competitors.
THEY AIN'T PLAYED NOBODY.

Slow days are nice. No news means no bad news, and that's good news.
More slow days, please.
