Source: Markel Smith accepted to Mizzou

Per a source, former Vianney running back Markel Smith was accepted to Mizzou on Friday. He played one year at Milford Academy in New York, then one year at Central Missouri where the 5'11, 230 pound back rushed for 913 yards and 7 touchdowns. Smith would have 3 years eligibility although I'm told he may still redshirt this year.

You may recall that Smith, a 3 star recruit out of HS and the #6 prospect in the state, was linked to Missouri back in 2014 before committing to Iowa. He told the Post Dispatch, "It was always neck and neck with Mizzou, and at the end I felt like the offense was for more my type of back. So I chose them."

Smith ended up needing a better ACT score but in his final opportunity to raise his score, was kicked out of the testing center.
