Mizzou has landed another verbal commit from the East St. Louis pipeline. Rey Estes, a quarterback and former Western Michigan commit, has now flipped to the Tigers. The biggest factor to this can be attributed to Estes’ four former teammates that are currently on scholarship at Mizzou: safety Greg Taylor, running back Nate Strong, offensive lineman Tre'Vour Simms, and defensive tackle Terry Beckner Jr.

Mizzou has been in the market for a dual-threat QB, and it looks like the Tigers got one. Estes is very athletic and could work very well under a Heupel offense.

This verbal commit is huge

The most intriguing part to Estes’ commit to Mizzou is the implication it could have on his best friend and highly touted WR Jeff Thomas’s decision .

Many believe Estes is the key for Mizzou to get Thomas

This is a great commit for Mizzou for more reasons than just one. Mizzou has now filled the need for a dual threat QB in the 2017 class, made greater their chances for Thomas, and established even further ties with the Flyers.

The recruitment of Thomas will be very interesting over the next several months. Just like Beckner, we should expect Thomas to make his decision closer to February 3.
