After taking Xavier to OT in the second game of the season, Missouri has tumbled back to earth to the tune of a 5-7 nonconference record. 3 of the Tigers 7 losses were against Lipscomb, North Carolina Central and Eastern Illinois. To add insult to injury Freshman Willie Jackson became the 13th player to transfer from the program during the KA era, following the loss to Illinois. Add it all up and it's clear to see why Kim Anderson is on the hot seat.
Just like the sun, Missouri basketball shall rise again. While it may not be 2016-17 season, the start of SEC play does present the Tigers with a unique opportunity to wipe the slate clean. Obviously, their 5-7 nonconference record can't be ignored, but for the time being Mizzou is 0-0 in the SEC, meaning that anything is possible. After all of the nonconference disappointments, Mizzou still has an opportunity to save this season.

While that may sound extremely optimistic, it's also very true. Nothing can be done about the past. The coaches, fans and players all need to adopt this mindset or be prepared to finish 5-26 for the season.
With that being said, Missouri beats LSU by 6 tonight. God Bless and Happy New Year Tiger Fans.
