Missouri Tigers at Georgia Bulldogs: LIVE THREAD!

Mizzou football fell short, but played like a team reborn in Lexington last Saturday. To do it again in Athens would be a sign of progress.

WELCOME TO MIZZOU FOOTBALL SATURDAY

HelmetCarAttack

The toughest date on Missouri’s schedule has arrived. Tonight, the Tigers do battle vs. the #4-ranked team in the land and 6-0 CFB Playoff hopeful, Georgia.

Though the SEC as a whole has been underwhelming in 2017, the Bulldogs, mind you, have not been. Wins at home against Notre Dame and Mississippi State were impressive, but successive away blowout victories vs. Tennessee (41-0) and Vanderbilt (45-14) the past two weeks show that Georgia is rolling.

Nick Chubb and Sony Michel form one of the deadliest running back platoons in all of college football, while the Bulldogs also own the third-best defense in the country in yards per game allowed (242.7).

Even if Missouri hadn’t flopped in home games vs. Purdue and Auburn, tonight’s contest would still be considered a matchup with not much going in the Tigers’ favor. But as last week’s game at Kentucky came down to the final play/two slow-moving officials/a missed delay of game penalty, Barry Odom’s squad has at least proven that they at least have the ability to be competitive.

Will that same mentality show against Georgia, and if so, how long can it last? We’ll see...
