WELCOME TO MIZZOU FOOTBALL SATURDAY
The light is fading for Missouri to make the rest of the 2017 season worthwhile. The Tigers’ 51-14 loss at home to Auburn two Saturday’s ago was the continuation of a season that’s been mostly considered a self-implosion since Week 1’s win vs. Missouri State.
Mizzou’s opponent for tonight, Kentucky, is going in the opposite direction in their rise under fifth-year head coach Mark Stoops. The Wildcats sit at 4-1, a narrow one-point home loss to #20 Florida their schedule’s only blip thus far.
South Carolina, who downed the Tigers 31-13 at Faurot Field in week two, lost the next week in Columbia, SC to Kentucky, 23-13. The Wildcats are high on momentum, looking to return to a bowl for the first time since 2011.
Put simply, odds aren’t really in Mizzou’s favor at the moment. Nonetheless, let’s watch and hope to be pleasantly surprised!
