Missouri Tigers at Vanderbilt Commodores: One win to Bowl

Missouri is running wild - literally and figuratively - and it leaves them a single victory shy of a miraculous bowl bid.

WELCOME TO MIZZOU FOOTBALL SATURDAY

Jack Peglow

Two games left on the schedule, both up against winnable SEC opponents away, only one needed to reach 6 wins. Barry Odom said that he’d turn it around after the Week 4’s embarrassing loss at home to Auburn, and, by God, he has.

Drew Lock leads the nation in passing touchdowns. The backfield combination of Ish Witter/Larry Rountree III has had an incredible past month. It’s hard to find a better playing defensive tackle combination playing better right now than A.J. Logan and Terry Beckner, Jr. Anthony Sherrils had a career day vs. Tennessee. The list of impact performers in this win streak goes on.

It’s now left to those same players and a few others to ensure the Commodores, who’ve lost 6 of their last 7 games, don’t revitalize their form in time for their Senior Day this week. Quarterback Kyle Shurmur and a dangerous corps of receivers can deal damage (27th in passing S&P+), but a pitiful rushing defense (111th S&P+) favors well for Mizzou’s two-headed monster at running back.

ONE MORE WIN TO PUNCH OUR TICKET TO NASHVILLE/MEMPHIS/JACKSONVILLE/NEPTUNE.
