Rock M Nation Bowl Pick ‘Em: The first update

We’re still really good at being kind of mediocre!

NCAA Football: Frisco Bowl-Louisiana Tech vs Southern Methodist Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

Better late than never, we have our first bowl pick ‘em update. As usual, we’re just hanging around the 50/50 mark in general, with a few really good and awful group picks as a whole. If you gave Marshall some love, well, you chose wisely, which, for most of us, wasn’t the case. Also of note, we had 118 entries this year which about doubles last year’s total. I’m sure Mizzou bowling helps, but either way, the more the merrier.

Find all of the fun here. For anyone new to the contest, the first sheet has all the entries, for games finished winners are marked in green, the other side in red. The second sheet has all the “boring” data and winning percentages, and your records will be on the third sheet. I’ll try to keep the spreadsheet updated as we go along. As mentioned, the New Mexico Bowl and Marshall were not kind to us as a whole, as well as the Cure Bowl. Our best overall pick was taking the under the in the Frisco Bowl (80%), the best spread pick was Troy in the New Orleans Bowl. (61%)

So it’s still early in the game, but for now dawg wild, dezerae, & mizzousundevil lead the pack at 16-6. As usual, take luck over skill as our coin flip entry isn’t far behind at 14-8. Looking ahead at today’s three games, the biggest majority has Toledo for the Dollar General Bowl. Enjoy today’s bowl games, and even more so, enjoy tonight’s braggin’ rights game! M-I-Z! (And yes, yours truly will be attending!)

(Editor’s note: If you were one of the first entries and the Iowa State/Memphis option for the Liberty Bowl wasn’t available, please let me know your pick and I can edit it in.)
