Mourn all you want — Mizzou’s 2018 two-deep is still pretty damn loaded

Here are today’s Mizzou Links (sans any actual links).

It’s only about five hours since Mizzou lost to Texas in the Texas Bowl, and I’m not really in the mood to share any actual links. If you’re in the mood to relive last night’s field position festival, you can read my live blog or Tashan’s post-game recap.

Being that I try to move on from negativity as quickly as humanly possible, I will simply choose to immediately look to 2018. Below is the last depth chart Mizzou posted this year — it’s from the Arkansas game, since they didn’t even pretend to update it for the bowl. I’ve crossed out the players who aren’t returning. Players’ 2018 years of eligibility are in parentheses.

Offense

QB

  • Drew Lock (6’4, 225, Sr.)
  • Micah Wilson (6’3, 215, So.)
  • Jack Lowary (6’4, 215, Jr.)

RT

CB

  • DeMarkus Acy (6’2, 195, Jr.)
  • Jerod Alton (5’10, 185, So.)
  • Christian Holmes (6’1, 200, So.)

FS

  • Kaleb Prewett (6’1, 210, Sr.)
  • Thomas Wilson

That’s seven returning starters and 20 of 28 members of the two-deep back, plus punter Corey Fatony, kicker Tucker McCann, and primary return men Rountree (kickoffs) and Floyd (punts).

Yeah, Mizzou’s going to be pretty damn good next year. And if Lock’s back — and it’s far to assume he will be — the Tigers are going to be even better. We’ve got a bit more to dig through about the bowl game, but bowl games are worthless. 2018 is still shaping up nicely in Columbia.

This was a links post with no links. Oh well.
