Jon Rothstein, now of FanRagSports, reports that Mizzou and UCF have signed a home-and-home in basketball.
The Missouri Tigers and UCF Knights will begin a home-and-home series next season in Orlando, multiple sources told FanRag Sports.
There will be a return game in Columbia during the 2018-19 season.
Official dates and times are still yet to be determined.
Granted, it would be a lot more fun if this game were in Mizzou Arena next year, as it will feature at least a couple of the most interesting players in college basketball: Michael Porter Jr. and Tacko Fall.
The squad is led by Tacko Fall, who at 7-foot-6 is the tallest player in college basketball. The native of Senegal averaged 10.9 points, 9.5 rebounds and 2.6 blocks in 26 games last season, and his 94 total blocks last year were a school record. He recently he announced he would be returning for his junior season after testing the NBA Draft waters this spring.
Fall’s work in the post helped make the Knights one of the best defensive teams in college basketball last year. UCF had the stingiest 2-point defense in the nation, allowing opposing teams to shoot only 39.9 percent inside the arc. It was 18th in the Division I in defensive efficiency according to KenPom.com, but the site ranked it 180th in offensive efficiency.
This will be a pretty fun test of the capabilities of each of Mizzou’s frontcourt freshmen. How will Porter finish around the basket? How will Jeremiah Tilmon fare in banging against a much bigger dude? Assuming Jontay Porter is also in uniform, will Mizzou create matchup issues in which Fall has to follow Jontay to the perimeter? Should be fun.

- As expected, Mizzou Baseball did not land a bid in the NCAA Tournament. Needed another win or two that never came.
