The topic du jour yesterday was the cornerbacks. Since Aarion Penton and John Gibson have graduated, the Tigers are REALLLLLY young at corner. Right now, Christian Holmes and DeMarkus Acy are atop the depth chart, and neither have a ton of snaps to their name.
That’s going to leave a lot of questions, but for now, the young guys are confident.

Tod Palmer wrote about the current backup Logan Cheadle:
He was a special teams standout as a freshman, worked his way in the back end of the cornerback rotation as a sophomore and was poised for a bigger role as the Tigers’ starting nickel back last season.
A sprained ankle against Georgia cost Cheadle three games and untold confidence.
“That was my first time having to miss a practice in my football career, much less a game,” Cheadle said. “Even when I came back, I didn’t feel like myself, because I didn’t trust my ankle fully yet. I wasn’t happy about last year at all, but this year hopefully I can go in healthy and have a good year.”
With Holmes, Acy and Cheadle, plus a number of young guys like Jerod Alton, Adam Sparks and Terry Petry, there will be options for Barry Odom. We’ll just see if they’re up to the task of replacing all that experience.
Dave Matter emptied the notebook with a bunch of other tidbits. Palmer had more defensive line notes, and Gabe DeArmond wrote up some camp notes as well.

- USAToday had their SEC predictions come out and they had Mizzou going 7-5 and finishing 4th in the East. I think we’d all consider that a step in the right direction after the last two years.

- CBC WR and Missouri target Kamryn Babb is out indefinitely with a knee injury:
Kamryn Babb of CBC sustained a significant knee injury at football practice late last week and may miss all of his senior high school season, multiple sources confirmed to STLhighschoolsports.com and the Post-Dispatch on Monday.
A wide receiver and defensive back for the Cadets, Babb is among the most sought after college recruits in the nation in the 2018 class.
Babb recently trimmed his list to nine schools, including Mizzou, Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan and USC. We’ll see if the injury impacts his recruitment, which many have him pegged for the Buckeyes.
