After what feels like a month off, Missouri’s basketball season will resume with Wednesday’s SEC-opener trip to South Carolina.
After creeping as high as 44th in the KenPom rankings, Cuonzo Martin’s Tigers currently stand at 51st overall — 32nd on offense and 100th on defense — and eighth in the league. That correlates to about an 8-10 finish in conference play. Mizzou is favored by KenPom in only five games ($$) but has at least a 41 percent chance in 14. Lots of tossups.

- Rivals.com listed Michael Porter Jr.’s flip from Washington to Mizzou as the third-biggest story in college basketball this season. Obviously he hasn’t had a direct impact on Mizzou’s on-court product this year, but his presence drew guys who have: Jeremiah Tilmon, Jontay Porter, Blake Harris, etc.
- Four-star 2019 guard Mario McKinney talked to PowerMizzou about Mizzou’s progress this year (he’s impressed) and his top six (Mizzou’s on it).

- Mizzou Women’s Hoops won its 13th straight game on Sunday, taking down Alabama 62-56 in Tuscaloosa. Jordan Chavis scored 17, and Sophie Cunningham added 13, but Cunningham also went down with a knee injury in the fourth quarter. The Fightin’ Pingetons are up to 15th in the AP poll now. We’ll see what comes of Cunningham’s injury.
Up to No. 1⃣5⃣ in the @AP_Top25 poll!
