Missouri’s 2018 basketball recruiting class is an unfinished picture at the moment. Until we know who Cuonzo Martin and company can land at the point guard position, we won’t really know how to evaluate the class as a whole. But we do know that Whitfield’s Torrence Watson is signed, sealed, and delivered. And we know that Watson is going to potentially be fantastic.

Man, Torrence did a thing tonight. 36 of his teams first 37 points… finished with 58.

Mizzou fans are going to enjoy watching Torrence Watson.
58!!! @TorrenceWatson

Nothing like scoring 58 of your team’s 74 points in a game in which your team needed basically every bucket. De Smet isn’t very good this year but managed to jump out to an early 17-8 lead after one quarter. And Watson almost literally single-handedly brought the Warriors back.
Perhaps even more impressive: if the above box score is correct, the 6’5 Watson scored nearly 60 points ... while making only three 3-pointers. He made 16 2-pointers and hit 17 of 18 free throws. Drive, finish, go to the line, rinse, repeat.
No highlights from last night just yet, but here’s a nice little mix of what Mizzou fans can expect next year.
(God, I love the fonts on basketball highlight videos.)

- The Mizzou men play Alabama tonight at 8:00 p.m. CT on ESPN2. The two teams are headed in opposite directions at the moment. Cullen VanLeer and Jordan Geist have been forced to take on larger roles, and the two most important Bama players to stop are Collin Sexton and Collin Sexton. Tramel talked Mizzou Hoops, among many other things, on Facebook Live last night.

- What happens when you run one of the fastest NCAA miles ever? You end up the national athlete of the week.
- #MizzouMade
- Mizzou’s Jacob Wielinski: SEC male swimmer of the week.
- Mizzou Softball will be on national television (SECN and ESPNU) eight times this year.
- MUtigers.com has a preview of Mizzou Baseball’s pitching this year. It’s weird losing a high draft pick (Tanner Houck) and feeling this excited about a unit, but I do. A weekend rotation of TJ Sikkema, Bryce Montes de Oca, and either Michael Plassmeyer or Andy Toelken could be outstanding. (I have no feel for what to expect from the bullpen, however.)
