Well, as most of you are, I’m still a little bummed from last night, but we’re shoving that aside and looking forward to the women’s game this afternoon. The No. 5 seed is the highest the program has had, and the Tigers are looking to get to the Sweet 16, and maybe more.
This is the first match-up between the two teams. If the Tigers prevail, they’ll face the winner of #4 Stanford (host team) vs. #13 Gonzaga.
Know your opponent: FGCU loves to shoot the three — really put some emphasis on “loves.” They lead the nation in three point attempts at 33.1 per game, and six players have attempted at least 100 threes, shooting over 34%. They’re short, though, with no one at or over 6’0. They are the champions of the Atlantic Sun Conference.
Opponent: The Florida Gulf Coast Eagles (30-4)
Time: 2:30 p.m. CT (approx)
Where: Maples Pavilion, Stanford, CA.
Where To Watch: ESPN2
