Former Mizzou defensive end Charles Harris had what we’ll call an okay rookie season as a first-round pick for the Miami Dolphins in 2017. He battled nagging injuries and started only two games with two sacks, but, well, other first-round ends didn’t do a whole lot better. The jury’s out long-term.
The jury’s not out on this, though: Harris is a really good dude.
He donated $100,000 donation toward the renovation of the Lincoln College Preparatory Academy football stadium.
”High school is where it all began for me,” Harris said by phone Friday from his home in Miami. “This is a great opportunity for me to give back to my high school, to my community, for me to say to others that it is OK, ... it’s cool.”
Harris, who grew up around 31st and Spruce streets, was also involved in basketball, cross-country and track and field at Lincoln. He is hoping to encourage other district alumni to give back to their schools as well.
Good, good dude.

- PowerMizzou caught up with this weekend’s two STL football visitors, lineman Jack Buford and running back Kyren Williams. (Spoiler: visits went well. They almost always do.) They also caught up with some other #LouToTheZou prospects at this weekend’s Lindenwood camp.
- Oh hey, another award for Karissa Schweizer. That’s No. 10,551 or so for the last two years. Actualy, 10,552: she was also named the Post-Dispatch’s Mizzou female athlete of the year.
- Jontay Porter’s return: a good thing.
- Looks like Tramaine Isabell is indeed coming back to (the state of) Missouri!
