July tends to be a pretty big month for Mizzou recruiting under Barry Odom, and thus far 2018 is living up to previous years’ standards. After landing running back Glover Cook over the weekend, Mizzou just scored another commitment, this time from IMG Academy (by way of Suffolk, Va.) cornerback Chris Shearin.

Shearin is listed at 5’11, 177 pounds and is a low-three-star prospect per the 247Sports Composite, but he listed offers from power conference programs like Duke, NC State, Maryland, and West Virginia.
His highlight film is, in a word, physical. Awesomely physical.
It’s hard to figure out too much about his top-end speed, but he’s got fantastic body control, and he hits awfully hard. That’ll do.
Shearin is Mizzou’s sixth known commitment for 2019 and the second defender, along with nickel back/OLB Aidan Harrison. Based on recent years, Mizzou will likely have a few more by the end of the month. WELCOME, CHRIS.
