Okay, first things first: check out this end-of-year Mizzou highlight video.
Hell yeah, that’s the stuff. Anyway.
The news of the day (besides Pete Scantlebury coming aboard here, of course) was technically something we could have guessed anyway: Mizzou-Arkansas is going to be on Black Friday.
For the fifth-consecutive year, the burgeoning football rivalry game between Mizzou and Arkansas will be played on the Friday of Thanksgiving Week. As announced today by the Southeastern Conference, the Shelter Insurance Battle Line Rivalry will kick off at 1:30 p.m. central time on Friday, Nov. 23rd from Mizzou’s Memorial Stadium/Faurot Field, with the game being televised on CBS. The contest was initially listed as a Nov. 24th date.
The Hogs will be shifting from Bret Bielema’s burliness-based system to Chad Morris’ up-tempo attack. They should be fun, but I’m not sure if they’ll actually be good just yet.
So now we know the kick time for three of Mizzou’s seven home games.
- September 1: UT Martin (3 pm CT on SECN Alt)
- September 8: Wyoming (6 pm CT on ESPN2)
- September 22: Georgia (?)
- October 20: Memphis (?)
- October 27: Kentucky (?)
- November 10: Vanderbilt (?)
- November 23: Arkansas (1:30 pm CT, CBS)
