COLUMBIA, Mo. — Missouri’s first day of August preseason camp began with some roster/personnel announcements.
- Offensive lineman A.J. Harris, a former four-star recruit out of Stilwell, Kan., has medically retired after injuring his knee during preparation for the Texas Bowl at the end of the 2017 season.
- Receiver Harry Ballard is not listed on the roster, nor was he in attendance at the open portion of practice on Friday. No official announcement has been made on his status with the team. Ballard originally signed with Missouri out of high school in 2016, and then signed again out of junior college in the 2018 class. He enrolled in January.
- Defensive lineman Caleb Sampson is also not listed on the roster that was handed out to the media on Friday. Here is an update on his situation, via Gabe DeArmond of PowerMizzou.com:
At #Mizzou practice one. Not on the roster we were given are Caleb Sampson, who I’m told is transferring and Harry Ballard on whom we will get an update from Barry Odom when practice is over
