When you look at turning points in a season, Mizzou’s trip to Starkville has to standout. The Tigers were struggling but fresh off a big win over Florida and they were lit up by Mississippi State to the tune of a 72-45 loss. The 27 point loss was the biggest since the Tigers loss at Auburn the year before, and sent them on a streak of losing six of their next seven games.
But Missouri was able to crawl out of the slide and are now playing their best basketball of the season having rattled off four wins in their last six games, and three of four. The Tigers are at full strength with Jeremiah Tilmon back, as well as Mark Smith, but neither played a huge role in the teams most recent win over Vanderbilt.
MSU comes in needing a win. They’re on the low side of the bubble and can’t afford a loss, even on the road to a surging Tigers team. So which team will gain the upper hand?
