Missouri-Troy football: Live updates, score, analysis
Final: Missouri 42, Troy 10
A good, dominant win for Missouri in which Cale Garrett might’ve had the game of his career will be overshadowed by Kelly Bryant’s injury. No official word on it yet, so the extent of the injury remains to be seen.
7:45 Q4: Sean Koetting gets his first field goal attempt of the season but it’s no good. Still nice to see a possible future option at kicker get some reps.
1:12 Q2: Kelly Bryant gets hit late and looks to be injured. Grabbing every part of his leg after that hit. Officials finally call roughing the passer on Troy. Bryant walks off on his own, but slowly, and Taylor Powell should be in the rest of the game.
In other news, Jalen Knox scored a 6-yard touchdown on the play and Missouri leads 42-7
6:13 Q2: Cale Garrett is having one helluva game. The captain of the defense has interceptions on the last two possessions, and he took the last one 33 yards for a touchdown. What a showing so far in his senior year.
7:57 Q2: Wow. What a catch from Albert O. Bryant throws it up to the back of the end zone, Albert O jumps to catch it and just barely gets his right foot down in the end zone. Quite possibly the best catch of his career. Missouri extends its lead to 21.
10:45 Q2: Tucker McCann punts after another three-and-out for Missouri, but Troy gets flagged for roughing the kicker. That’s a big break for the Tigers, whose offense has stalled the past couple of drives.
:37 Q1: Jonathan Nance caught a pass from Kelly Bryant, shook off a tackle and took the ball all the way to the end zone. He was originally ruled out at the 1, but officials ruled it a touchdown after a review.
3:27 Q1: Kelly Bryant couldn’t find Jalen Knox on first and goal, so he took it to the house himself for a 3-yard touchdown run. Missouri now leads 14-7, its first lead of the game.
9:55 Q1: Right after Kelly Bryant and Kam Scott connect for a 49-yard gain to the goal line, Larry Rountree III pounds in a 1-yard touchdown run to tie up the score. The score is 7-7 with Troy taking over on offense
11:38 Q1: Troy scores on a 12-play drive to take a 7-0 lead. Those are the first points Missouri has given up in the first quarter this season.
Pregame
A statement from MU was given to reporters just before kickoff, announcing that defensive end Trajan Jeffcoat was not presently enrolled at the school and would not be with the program for the remainder of the season. No further comment was provided.
