It seems wild that the season just ended and we’re already within three months of the spring game. I imagine there’s a good chance this one is more robustly attended by fans, as it will be the first opportunity to get a look at Missouri’s new presumptive starting quarterback, Kelly Bryant.
While nearly every Power 5 spring game is televised in some capacity (certainly every SEC spring game is), I’d also venture a guess that Missouri will get some more attention because of the Kelly Bryant angle.
2. Missouri basketball comes up short against Alabama.
Missouri fell to Alabama 70-60 on Wednesday night, dropping to 0-3 in SEC play in the process. The Tigers were led by Javon Pickett and Mark Smith, who scored 13 points apiece and were the only two Missouri players in double figures.
Here’s the full box score:

As of press time (otherwise known as my bed time), our post-game content had not yet gone live, so please make sure you check out our front page for more basketball content — and get ready for Study Hall later on Thursday.
3. Kendall Blanton confirms that Missouri is, in fact, Tight End U.
Blanton — currently at the East-West Shrine Bowl — had a nice interview with Football Gameplan in which he confirmed his believe that Missouri remains TE-U.
You can watch the whole interview here. Also, love the zero hesitation in pronouncing Albert Okwuegbunam. SEC Network announcers need to take lessons from Blanton on that.
4. Nothing but respect for my G.O.A.T., Red Panda

- Bigger impact on 2019: Damarea Crockett’s departure or Albert Okwuegbunam’s return?
- What version of Alabama will Missouri hoops see?

- Ted Monachino — Missouri alum and defensive analyst in 2018 — had a brief stop at Kansas State. After being hired as the Wildcats’ defensive coordinator recently, Monachino is now heading to the Chicago Bears as a defensive assistant.
- Jalen Hurts is wagon wheeling-it to Oklahoma for his final season of eligibility. The last two transfer quarterbacks in Norman turned out pretty OK.
- In QB transfer news that’s more pertinent to Missouri, Oklahoma flip-flopped and reportedly granted a waiver to allow Austin Kendall to transfer within the Big 12 to West Virginia. So, there’s a pretty good chance that Kendall will be the Mountaineers’ starting quarterback when they travel to Columbia in Week 2.
- Missouri announced a fundraising campaign to up its Tiger Scholarship Fund membership to 18,039 in order to compare more favorably to other SEC schools. At 7,000, Missouri’s athletic donors currently rank second-to-last in the SEC, just ahead of Vanderbilt.
