During Barry Odom’s tenure, one of the program’s strongest units has been the offensive line. That consistency should carry into 2019 with several starters returning, but the coaching staff seems set on adding lots of depth for the future in this year’s class.
On Monday, the Tigers locked in another big body for the trenches.

Matute is a 6’4”, 275 pound offensive tackle. That may appear a bit slight for the position, but consider that Matute was recruited out of high school as a quarterback and is listed on 247 Sports as a tight end. We’ve seen Missouri use linemen fluidly in the recent past (paging, Daniel Parker, Jr.), so Matute could be use in a more flexible manner depending on how he develops.
