Dive Cuts returns for a new episode after two games this week for the Mizzou Basketball team. Sam and Matt get into the (expected) results over the last week, take a look at Mizzou’s stout defense, and examine the offensive woes that many are seeing to start this season. They also preview The Hall of Fame Classic, which hopefully means Mizzou is playing Butler and Oklahoma, right?! Let’s dive in.
Episode Breakdown:
:15 – 12:20: Welcome back to another episode of Dive Cuts! Mizzou dropped their first road contest to Xavier, but has won two games in three days. We break down what has been working and what hasn’t for the Missouri offense.
12:21 – 23:11: The lineups and substitutions have been all over the place so far, but it looks like Cuonzo Martin is settling into a basic rotation.
23:12 – 33:30: With the Hall of Fame Classic coming up next week, we take a look into what you can expect from a very good Butler team.
33:31 – 39:04: If Mizzou beats Butler, they will likely take on Oklahoma the following day provided they aren’t upset by Stanford. Oklahoma should be a good test with a Hall of Fame coach on the sidelines in Lon Kruger. And with the way the SEC has started in basketball, getting quality wins early is looking more and more important.
39:05 – 42:35: Looking at the schedule ahead of next week, you get into the “late semester drag” if you will. So next week is something you need to enjoy until Temple and Braggin’ Rights in all likelihood. Note: That could relate to Dive Cuts recordings, although it will probably still be weekly!
42:36 – END: Final thoughts/Predictions after Sam did some general scheduling and clean-up. And Dive Cuts will return next week after the tourney in KC wraps up!
