20:00 1H: Crowd is still filing into Sprint Center. Missouri fans have a decent turnout tonight, with many more most likely still in line do to the early tipoff time.
15:51 1H: That couldn’t have started any worse for Missouri. Butler leads 15-3, and is dominating on both ends of the court right now.
11:08 1H: It goes from bad to worse. Butler was unconscious for a while there from three, and leads 25-10. Tilmon has already picked up his second foul.
7:08 1H: That is more like it for Missouri. Tigers have cut the lead to 29-20 after back-to-back-buckets from Dru Smith, energizing the Missouri faithful here at the Sprint Center.
3:21 1H: Butler has regained control, and Missouri has gone cold again. Bulldogs lead 36-22 at final media timeout of first half.
HALFTIME: This game would certainly be close had Missouri not dug itself into an early 15-3 hole. Tigers will need a second half run somewhere to get back into this game.
14:04 2H: Missouri is itching so close to making the full run they need to get back on level terms. However untimely fouls or blown defensive assignments are the reason Missouri still trails, 47-36.
11:51 2H: Missouri is just not able to create enough space offensively, and Tilmon seems to be anticipating pressure before it even arrives. The last turnover before the timeout he simply tried to move to quickly before securing the pass.
9:11 2H: Kobe Brown forces a Butler turnover and sprints down the court for a one-handed jam. Butler calls timeout, leading 53-43.
2:41 2H: Just a disastrous sequence from Missouri all around. Mark Smith missed two open looks from three, and the Tigers surrendered multiple offensive rebounds that Butler turned into points. Butler’s 61-48 may be insurmountable at this point.
FINAL: This one will be frustrating for Missouri and its fans. However, there isn’t much time for the team to reflect. It will the loser of the Oklahoma/Stanford game tomorrow night at 6 p.m. in the consolation game, a chance to salvage something from the tournament.
