Missouri’s Senior Football class provided plenty of thrills over the years`

Thank you, Seniors!

Missouri won yesterday, and I think right now is a good opportunity to say thanks to the Seniors

There was a large group of players who could have bounced from Missouri and left the program in the dust when the sanctions were handed down last year. They stuck.

It’s sometimes easy to get lost during a year like this with the fact this team is made up of 18-23 year old young men who love playing and representing the school you cheer for. On Saturday there were several who couldn’t even take the field after dealing with injuries all season, notably Kelly Bryant, who left a message on instagram for everyone.

Bryant was joined by cornerback Demarkus Acy and wide receiver Johnathan Johnson on the sideline, as well as Senior linebacker Cale Garrett who has been out for the season.

But Yasir Durant and Trevor Wallace-Simms started on the offensive line, Jonathan Nance scored the first touchdown by a Tigers Wide Receiver since the Troy game, Khalil Oliver had two pass breakups and four tackles, Ronnell Perkins had a pass breakup and two tackles, Tucker McCann converted his lone field goal attempt and was 3-for-3 on his extra points to move into 2nd place on the all time scoring list. Richaud Floyd, as always, was stellar in fielding punts.

Dave Matter had a good piece last week on the group and their bond. For the guys who have been here since the beginning including Tyrell Jacobs, Jonah Dubinski, Joe Hoy, Thomas Grossman, Jacob Trump, Franklin Agbasimere, and Justin Smith, thanks for everything.

Consider this your morning links for Saturday... I’ll have some additional thoughts on this season and Barry Odom soon. But with the season wrapped up, I thought it would be good to start by saying thanks to the Senior class, and I hope you all enjoy the last day of the regular season for College Football.
