Braggin’ Rights GAME THREAD: Missouri vs Illinois

Coming off two consecutive wins, Missouri has put itself in the right position for Braggin’ Rights. Now, the Tigers look to take down the Fighting Illini on one the biggest stages this year.

LIVE SECOND HALF UPDATES

FINAL: My oh my, that is a big win. Two Merry Christmases in a row for Missouri. The Tigers run out the clock to win, 63-56.

1:14 2H: Dru Smith hits a pair of free throws, and Ayo Dosunmo responds with a bucket. Brad Underwood calls timeout. Missouri leads 57-50.

2:50 2H: Javon Pickett finishes at the rim, but Missouri is whistled for an offensive foul. Tigers now have the ball, leading 53-44.

3:45 2H: A technical foul is assessed to Tilmon, his fifth, and Illinois’ Adam Griffin. Illinois gets the ball back after a Missouri shot clock violation, trailing 53-43.

8:19 2H: A Tilmon sequence if there ever was one. Tilmon throws down a put-back jam that will be featured in highlight videos for years to come. On the other end, he picks up foul number four. Tigers lead 49-37.

11:38 2H: Illinois makes a mini-run, but Missouri bats it back. Tigers get another huge bucket from Pinson to go up 43-33.

16:08 2H: Xavier Pinson bombs a three to put Missouri up 35-26, its largest lead of the game. Brad Underwood calls timeout for Illinois. Dueling MIZ-ZOU and ILI-INI chants have broken out during the break.

It’s Braggin’ Rights time! From the Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Braggin’ Rights is live. Missouri needs this game. Illinois needs this game. As always, the fans and players very badly want this game as non-conference play is close to wrapping up.
