So I watched basketball last night.
watching this Zion Williamson steal and dunk on repeat forever

There is nothing on the planet like Zion Williamson
I’ve watched a lot of basketball in my life and I’m certain I’ve seen better basketball players at all different levels. But I’ve never ever seen anything like Zion Williamson. He’s 6’7 and 280 lbs and is the quickest most explosive player on the court. Boban Marjanovic, the 7-3 monster who plays in the NBA is 290 lbs.
I’m not a huge Duke fan, and the Blue Devils without Zion are only marginally interesting. But he makes them must watch television.
The SEC Marches on, without LSU and with Admiral Schofield

Tennessee disposed of Mississippi State, this dunk from Schofield was basically when they called the rest of the game off and just advanced the Vols to the next round. Kentucky took out Alabama, and Auburn beat South Carolina. But the game of the day came down to a hot Gators team facing the LSU mess of a basketball situation and Florida freshman Andrew Nembhard sent the Tigers back home to Baton Rouge.

In a bizarre twist post-game, LSU sent Javonte Smart of all players to the podium post game. I’d consider maybe a moratorium on Smart in the media if you’re letting him play considering his coach hasn’t spoken to the media nor is he cooperating with LSU, so cool.
- If you missed it: Texas A&M fired Billy Kennedy, marking at least one job (and almost certainly just the one job) coming open in the SEC. The rumors are flying the Aggies plan to make Buzz Williams a very very attractive offer. Williams is a Texas native and has long rumored to be interested in returning home, plus he’s probably peaked at Virginia Tech. Tech is currently 11th in KenPom and 24-8 on the season. It’d be a terrific hire for A&M.
- Meanwhile Tom Crean has recruiting going in Athens: Crean landed the commitment of 4-star wing Christian Brown yesterday. Brown is an energetic 6-6 wing from Oak Hill, and the 61st ranked player in the country. Crean now has 6-5 guard and #2 ranked Anthony Edwards, 6-6 #61 ranked Brown, 6-6 #69 ranked Jaykwon Walton, and 6-6 #96 ranked Toumani Camara. Not bad.
- Kentucky picked up a commitment from a 5-star: When the Wildcats got the nod from 5-star wing Keion Brooks. That’s now #23 Brooks, #9 wing Tyrese Maxey, #7 wing Kahlil Whitney and #109 ranked wing Dontaie Allen.
Recruiting is heating up. Man.
Missouri meanwhile is likely going to be keeping an eye on the State Championship game. Rock Bridge takes on CBC which means a big time matchup of one time 2019 Mizzou recruit Isiaih Mosley and current top 2020 target Caleb Love. It’s a rematch of an early January game which saw the Cadets nick the Bruins by a point 67-66. So it should be a good matchup and I’d bet Missouri coaches will be in the building.
