NCAA Wrestling Championships begin Thursday; Missouri’s contingent ready to roll
Oh is there another tournament that gets underway today?
The NCAA Wrestling Championships begin in Pittsburgh on Thursday; Missouri will be represented by nine wrestlers.
You can find the full bracket here.
Missouri’s best bet for an individual national title is Daniel Lewis, seeded No. 2 at 174-pounds. Lewis is 24-1 on the season. The only weight class at which Missouri is not represented is 197 pounds.
The NCAA hasn’t done many things right lately, but it DOES have a pretty comprehensive landing page to follow along with updates from Pittsburgh. Session I starts at 11 a.m. CT Thursday and will be aired on ESPNU and WatchESPN.com; Session II starts at 6 p.m. CT and will be aired on ESPN and WatchESPN.com.
Before the championships begin, get caught up on previews from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and the Columbia Missourian.
Missouri baseball came to life in game two against Murray State
After getting swept by Arkansas over the weekend and then beating Murray State just 2-1 in the series opening on Tuesday, Missouri (13-8) exploded against the Racers in a 14-1 win on Wednesday.
Missouri hit three home runs courtesy of Kameron Misner (3-for-5, 2 runs, 2 RBIs), Peter Zimmerman (2-for-3, 2 runs, 2 RBIs) and Josh “Steve” Holt Jr. (1-for-3, 3 RBIs).
Missouri now gets three games with Ole Miss, starting on Friday. The good news? It’s at home, where the Tigers are 8-0 this season.
Missouri softball loses momentum, game against Bradley
After taking two-of-three from No. 8 Georgia over the weekend, Missouri softball hosted Bradley for a mid-week game — and lost, 8-1.
That’s a tough result after the positives from the weekend series against the Bulldogs, in which Missouri (13-12) dropped the first game but won the final two.
Missouri won’t have long to erase this one; the Tigers travel to Lexington to face 13th-ranked Kentucky in a three-game series this weekend.
Missouri’s Pro Day is Thursday; parts will be aired on the NFL Network
Interested in watching guys throw against air or run in straight lines for about 40 yards? Boy do I have good news for you!
Missouri’s Pro Day begins at 9 a.m. CT Thursday; at 10 a.m., NFL Network will air live from the event — entirely because of Drew Lock, obviously.
Speaking of Lock:
The Broncos will host a pre-draft visit with Missouri QB Drew Lock, per source. #9sports
