Missouri finishes its spring season on Saturday with the annual Black and Gold Game, or as we call it here, Kelly Bryant Presentation Day. This will the first look at Missouri’s new starting quarterback for not just the fan base, but the nation — in a game that will be broadcast on TV and online.
These spring games almost always end up kind of boring, but there’s still some interesting story lines to watch.
- Will we get any insight into what the offense looks like with Kelly Bryant?
- How will the offensive line look as it replaces Paul Adams and Kevin Pendleton?
- Can someone fill Emanuel Hall’s shoes?
- Will Missouri find a consistent pass rush out of a talented but inconsistent front four?
- Finally, Tucker McCann may replace Corey Fatony at punter, but who will replace that swagger?
We’ll get our first look at some answers on Saturday.

Missouri Spring Game: Scoring, matchups
Per Barry Odom, the game will pit the starters against the non-starters — so, ostensibly, the No. 1 offense and defense will be on one team, and everyone else will be on the other. No specifics have been given on scoring, but under Odom, this has stayed pretty traditional. No more 73-27 score lines where teams were getting points for first downs, like they did under Gary Pinkel.
We know a few players won’t be playing because of injury:
Daniel Parker, Jalani Williams, Chris Shearin and Albert O won’t play in the #Mizzou spring game on Saturday. Barry Odom said everyone else should be available.
