Missouri evens Vandy series 1-1, snapping Commodores win streak in the process
After dropping the series opener 5-2 against No. 2 Vanderbilt, Missouri flipped that score on the Commodores on Saturday, evening the series after two games.
The Tigers’ win snapped a 13-game winning streak by Vanderbilt, which was the longest in the nation.

TJ Sikkema moves to 7-3 on the season after pitching six innings of two-run ball, and his teammates picked him up by scoring five unanswered runs after the Commodores took a 2-0 lead in the fourth.
The Tigers got a big day at the plate from Pete Zimmerman, who went 2-3 with 2 RBIs and a home run. Ian Bedell shut the door for the save, pitching three innings with only two hits in relief of Sikkema.

First-pitch for the series finale is at noon Sunday. Vanderbilt has only dropped two conference series this season — to Texas A&M and Georgia. Both of those series, however, were on the road.
Missouri should already be in solid shape for a regional berth, but becoming the first road team to take a series in Nashville this season could very well lock-up a No. 2 seed for the Tigers.
Your weekly reminder that Larry Rountree is a bad man
I know I give a lot of attention to Kelly Bryant, but Larry Rountree might be the biggest key to Missouri’s offense this season.
And he’s really good.
Larry himself wanted to remind everyone about that with this Saturday afternoon tweet.

By the way, can we come up with a new nickname for Larry? I’ve been spitballing “Big Tree” to play off the Big Tree in McBaine. I feel like that’s some local community synergy right there.
