I don’t proclaim to be a big diamond sports fan, and I hope I don’t fool anyone into thinking I follow these games as closely as some of you do.
But one thing I do love... Softball highlights!
I can’t explain it, but watching softball highlights brings me joy. They’re inherently fun and the ladies are so incredibly passionate and excitable, it’s just so much fun to watch.
STATEMENT MADE @hattilayne powers Mizzou to a Game One win over Fullerton with her SIX (!!!) RBI performance!— Mizzou Softball (@MizzouSoftball) May 18, 2019
Mizzou will play the winner of Game Two tomorrow at 5 p.m. CT. #OwnIt pic.twitter.com/h8rQkEko2N
The story of the day was Hatti Moore who single handedly beat Cal State-Fullerton with six RBI’s and a couple home runs. The win puts the Tigers into the winners bracket of the double elimination Regional Final. So I hope I get this right as I’ve tried to look it up and follow it but here’s what I have.
Mizzou will most likely face UCLA as long as they win. With it being double elimination, whoever loses today will face the winner of Fullerton and Weber State and if they win they get a rematch with the winner of the first game.
I’m sure someone in the comments will correct me if I’m wrong. Give me a break everyone, it’s my first time running this thing while having to figure out how the Regionals work. But here’s what I’m working with:
Los Angeles Regional – May 17-19 at Los Angeles, California
Game 1: Missouri 7, Cal State Fullerton 4
Game 2: Weber St. (26-19) vs. No. 2 seed UCLA* (46-5)
Game 3: Missouri vs. Game 2 winner | 6 p.m
Game 4 : Cal State Fullerton vs. Game 2 loser | 8:30 p.m. Saturday
Game 5 : Game 3 loser vs. Game 4 winner | 11 p.m. Saturday
Game 6: Game 3 winner vs. Game 5 winner | 5 p.m. Sunday
Game 7 (if necessary): Game 6 winner vs. Game 6 loser | 7:30 p.m. Sunday
Sorry if I messed it up. Either way, Go Tigers and beat UCLA!
Mizzou Baseball drops two in a row heading into finale against Florida
TJ Sikkema was fantastic in throwing a complete game, only giving up one run. But the one run was too much. After a baserunner reached on an error, Sikkema gave up a home run to Gator LF Austin Langworthy which was all the run support the Gators needed as Jack Leftwich went the distance against a Tiger offense struggling to score runs.
Mizzou looks to salvage a win in the series in an early start today (11am) with some chances for inclement weather.
It was a big week for RockMNation, so get caught up:
