Softball dropped it’s contest against UCLA
Mizzou was no match for the second ranked Bruins. Our twitter feed took the loss well.
Booooooo. Nobody likes UCLA anyways and Bruins are a dumb mascot. https://t.co/8ubndPeQ9A— Good Diamond Sports Fan Blog (@RockMNation) May 18, 2019
Mizzou turned around and played Weber State with the winner move on to play UCLA, first pitch was shortly after 11pm and I didn’t make it to the end of the game to tell you what happened. But considering Saturday wasn’t good for the diamond sports and the game finished after midnight local time that clearly means they won right?
EDIT: THEY WON! Watch the highlights...
Because they won it means they play against UCLA today at 4pm.
Mizzou Baseball ended their regular season on a down note, getting swept by Florida
After a really surprising season Mizzou Baseball headed into the final weekend with a chance to get as high as the 5-seed in a really loaded SEC Conference. Things did not go as planned as the Gators were able to sweep the series to drop the Tigers to 13-16-1 in conference play.
It was a fairly big upset since the Gators were just 10-17 coming into the series, and just 3-12 on the road. Not a great showing by the Tigers.
Regardless the seedings for the SEC tournament are set:
Mizzou will face Ole Miss on Tuesday. The Tigers took 2 out of 3 against the Rebels back in March. The winner will take on 2nd-seeded Arkansas.
Still, even with the disappointment of the last series Missouri had a very positive season. They finished 34-21-1 overall, and made a lot of positive strides in building up the program in Coach Steve Bieser’s third season at the helm. But why not go upset some teams in the tournament and solidify your position in the NCAA tournament.
I mean to link this yesterday, but forgot... Mizzou media got a tour of the South End Zone which is getting awfully close to being done, and oooooh, boy is it fancy.
Here’s some twit-pics from a few allowed in.
