Hometown LB Will Norris picks Mizzou on Thursday
Missouri’s run of commitments didn’t take the holiday off, as Rock Bridge linebacker Will Norris announced his decision on Twitter, complete with a fireworks graphic.
The Tigers now have some serious beef in the middle of the defense in this 2020 recruiting class. Norris is 6-2, 230 and he joins Antonio Doyle (6-4, 221). Norris is a 5.6 three-star recruit, according to Rivals, and while his offer list isn’t exactly loaded, he was identified early by Barry Odom’s staff. Odom is beginning to show that the guys they go after early tend to develop quickly, judging by how many freshmen have been playing (and succeeding) during his tenure.
Missouri’s class is well over 50-percent set at this point, and has now reached the 12-commitment mark before the end of August. That’s something we outlined here as indicative of a successful recruiting class in Missouri’s recent past, as the two highest-rated classes in Missouri history (2008 and 2010) each reached that mark before the end of summer.
The 2020 class currently ranks 32nd nationally; this is shaping up to be a Top-30 group. That might not sound like much, but again, that’s been very rare for the Tigers.

- Sigh. Michael Porter Jr. suffered a sprained knee in practice and reportedly will miss the entirety of the summer league. Supposed to be back for training camp, but it would be great if we could actually see what a healthy Porter can do. The Athletic goes a little deeper into the extent of Porter’s injury.
