With football season nearing fast and the summer basketball circuit ended, it’s been a long time since we got any substantial news on the hoops ‘crootin trail.

Early Saturday morning, however, reports surfaced that one of the Tigers’ biggest targets is headed their way in the next month.

Caleb Love — one of the “Big Three” recruits pursued by the Tigers in the 2020 class — has long been considered the toughest actual get for Cuonzo Martin and his staff. However, with Cam’Ron Fletcher committed to UK and Josh Christopher potentially trending toward the west coast, Love all of the sudden looks like the most attainable of the group. Shows what we all know!

Like any blue-chip recruit, Love sports a long list of impressive suitors who the Tigers will have to fend off. Louisville, Indiana, North Carolina and some other school to the West are all on Love’s calendar, so convincing Love to sport black and gold won’t be easy. Cuonzo Martin has more than earned his stealth credentials, though, so here’s to hoping he’s got a few more tricks up his sleeve.
