Earlier this afternoon it was confirmed that Xavier Pinson has entered the transfer portal.
Pinson was second on the Tigers with 13.6 PPG this season, and the junior G started every game for Cuonzo Martin this year.
This move didn’t come as a surprise to many after Pinson played just 4 minutes in the second half of Mizzou’s first round loss in the NCAA tournament. After the game, Pinson’s family members took to social media to voice their displeasure, and from that point, it was already assumed that today’s news was a foregone conclusion.
Pinson could pursue professional opportunities, as well. Last year he tested the NBA waters before deciding to return to the Tigers, so it is likely Pinson could consider the NBA draft as another alternative to transferring.
