FINAL:
The Missouri Tigers routed the Vanderbilt Commodores 41-0 this afternoon. The Tigers were carried by a overwhelming run game from Larry Rountree III and Tyler Badie. Badie recorded a touchdown and Rountree had three. Connor Bazelak played a structured and effective game under center for the Tigers, throwing over 300 yards and no interceptions. He went 30-37 on completions as well.
Missouri’s defense looked dominate, and they managed to pitch the full game shutout against the Commodores. Nick Bolton did Nick Bolton things all game long.
Though the scoreboard wasn’t pretty, the story of today’s ballgame was female kicker, Sarah Fuller, who became the first girl to play power five football.
4th Quarter Notes:
- Another Tigers score extended their lead to 34 points after a 6 play, 69-yard drive
- Larry Rountree III gets his third touchdown of the game
- Vanderbilt converted a fake punt on 4th and 1 in order to keep their drive alive
- Jalani Williams and Mason Pack subbed in at safety for Gillespie and Bledsoe
- Bailey checked in at LB for Bolton
- Missouri’s defense forced another fourth down, this time Vanderbilt failed to convert
- Missouri took over on downs at their own 30 yard line
- The shutout remained intact
- Freshman QB, Brady Cook got the call and replaced Connor Bazelak
- Cook quickly recorded his first career touchdown pass
- Cook connected with WR Damon Hazelton for a 25-yard touchdown
- The Tigers increased their lead to 41 points
- The Tigers had the ball with 2 minutes to go and a fresh set of downs
- Missouri let the play clock wind down to zeros
3rd Quarter Notes:
- The second half began with a little bit of history
- Sarah Fuller took the field for the opening kickoff
- She became the first woman to play in a power five college football game
- Missouri’s Larry Rountree III continued to terrorize Vanderbilt’s defense on the ground
- Freshman, Elijah Young joined the party with a couple of runs
- Harrison Mevis drilled a 21-yard field goal to extend Missouri’s lead to 24
- Nick Bolton recorded his 10th tackle of the game (that’s his fifth 10 tackle game on the season)
- Missouri forced a fumble on Vanderbilt’s opening drive of the second half. Jarvis Ware recovered the football
- Harrison Mevis converted a 44-yard field goal following the turnover
- Missouri pushed their lead up to 27 points
- Vanderbilt elected to put in in freshman QB, Mike Wright and still went three and out
- Missouri was driving as they headed into the fourth quarter
AT THE HALF:
The Tigers lead the Commodores 21-0. Missouri’s defense has looked very disciplined thus far. They have had 3 sacks and are pitching a shutout. Vanderbilt’s offense has been shutdown in all facets so far today. Offensively, the Tigers have put up 325 total yards. Larry Rountree III has been dominate on the ground. He has 2 rushing touchdowns and 94 yards. Additionally, Bazelak has been extremely efficient. He doesn’t have a touchdown through the air, but he’s 23-28 on completions and has racked up over 230 yards. The Tigers had 19 first downs in the first half, while Vanderbilt only had 6.
2nd Quarter Notes:
- Missouri’s Barrett Banister dropped on open pass on fourth and three
- Despite the turnover on downs, the Commodores went three and out
- Connor Bazelak led another touchdown drive
- Larry Rountree III picked up his second rushing touchdown on the afternoon
- Vanderbilt’s offense continued to struggle through the second
- Tre Williams recorded his first sack of the day, which helped force a punt
- Missouri regained possession from their own 20 yard line with just over three minutes to go in the half
- Tyler Badie was being fed the ball on Missouri’s last drive of the half
- Badie topped off the drive with a rushing touchdown
- Missouri went 80 yards in just 8 plays
- Missouri had one more possession before half but ran out of time

- Missouri won the toss and elected to kick off
- Vanderbilt failed to convert on 4th and 1 on their opening drive
- Missouri took over on Vanderbilt’s 45 yard line
- Larry Rountree III scored a rushing touchdown to give Missouri the lead
- Missouri’s defense forced a punt on their second outing
- Harrison Mevis missed a 45 yard field goal to extend Missouri’s lead
- Missouri got the ball back with 2:13 left in the first quarter still up seven
- Missouri heads into the second quarter driving
- At the end of the first quarter, Larry Rountree III has 53 yards and a touchdown
- Nick Bolton recorded six tackles and a sack
