FanPulse GOLD MASTER: LSU wins National Title and the hearts of SBNation’s fans

As a group, we’re kind of confident in our sports teams.

We made it, everyone. The conclusion of the 2019 College Football season went down, the LSU Tigers beat the Clemson Tigers in New Orleans... and everyone was SUPER chill about it...

Yes, on top of slapping the back side of a police officer who appears to be harassing LSU players for whatever reason, OBJ was also caught handing out cash to LSU players on the field after the game. It was something to behold.

None of this means LSU isn’t your National Champions! Ed Ogeron’s Tigers navigated a tough schedule to go undefeated so they deserve credit.

Obviously, that means LSU hangs onto the top overall spot in FanPulse

So there’s your final gold master version of SB Nation’s FanPulse.

  • The SEC placed teams at #1, #4, #6, #8, and #17.
  • The Big 10 gathered the #3, #7, #10, #18, #21, and #23 spots.
  • The ACC picked up #2 and #24.
  • The Pac-12 grabbed #11 and #13.
  • and the Big 12 landed the #5 and the #9 spots.

Non Power Conference Teams were #12 Memphis, #20 Cincinnati, and #22 Navy (AAC), #14 App State (Sun Belt), #15 Notre Dame (Ind), #16 Boise State and #19 Air Force (MWC), and #25 UAB (Conference USA).

So, the AAC had more teams (3) than the ACC, Pac-12 and the Big 12. The B1G got the most teams in with six, while the SEC placed five. So good years in those conferences... the rest of the Power Conferences? Not so powerful.

And while it’s always way too early to predict who will be good at this same time a year from now, it CANNOT STOP FANPULSE VOTING (so here are your picks):

I voted someone else because please make it someone else. Here are the percentages:

  • Clemson - 47.7%
  • Ohio State - 20%
  • Someone Else - 12.2%
  • Alabama - 8.8%
  • LSU - 4.8%
  • Oklahoma - 2.5%
  • Georgia - 2.3%
  • Oregon - 1.8%

REMEMBER: FanPulse submission applications are always open. If you want to vote in the poll you can still sign up: Click HERE to sign up! We’ve also started the College Basketball FanPulse, so get in on that action.

Fan Confidence time... Since Mizzou hired Eli Drinkwitz the confidence is climbing. It might also be a byproduct of time passing and that allowing our shattered confidence to build up again, only to be crushed at a later day.

Here are the exact percentages over time:

  • 27.3%
  • 95%
  • 91.2%
  • 97.3%
  • 100%
  • 97.7%
  • 100%
  • 53.1%
  • 20.6%
  • 33.3%
  • 21.1%
  • 5.6%
  • 10%
  • 40.6%
  • 57.1%
  • 78%

So good job, everyone! We’re started to get excited about our inevitable downfall next season! I kid... sort of.

BASKETBALL CONFIDENCE

This is a little more shaky at the moment. And who wouldn’t be confident in a team who put out their best performance in years by following it up with their worst?

  • 76.7%
  • 84.2%
  • 82.9%
  • 96.6%
  • 68.8%
  • 71.4%
  • 77%

The polling keeps coming out right after a win and right before a loss which occurs before the vote is published. So take that as you will. I’d say confidence is still there, but it’s shaky. It’s just hard to know which team we’re going to get from day to day.
