Tigers Grind it Out, Beat South Carolina

Tigers emerge victorious in a defensive battle

NCAA Football: Missouri at South Carolina Jeff Blake-USA TODAY Sports

The Tigers got it done against the Gamecocks in the other Columbia on Saturday.

It took a stellar defensive performance, but the Tigers did enough to beat South Carolina in the Gamecocks’ first game without Will Muschamp. Larry Rountree III also moved to second all time on the Mizzou rushing yards list, trailing only Brad Smith.

The Tigers will now head home with the Mayor’s Cup and into the Battle Line Rivalry next week at .500 looking to have a winning record for the first time this year.
