We’ve long held firm that college football in the year 2020 is exceedingly weird. Mizzou beat the defending national champions and then two weeks later got in a literal fist-fight with Darth Vader.
But it’s been a while since we confronted the reality that recruiting in 2020 is also weird, albeit in a more positive way for Missouri. Eli Drinkwitz has elevated the Tigers’ recruiting profile in less than one year on the job, and his early season success should bolster their standing even more.
Judging by the news that just dropped, it appears the Tigers are still rising.
Welcome to the #NewZou OL EJ Ndoma-Ogar (@IHOP_75) ‼️#MIZ pic.twitter.com/KRGPITfm9L

Ndoma-Ogar was a true freshman who played in four games for the Oklahoma Sooners in the 2019 season. However, he opted out of 2020 and apparently entered the transfer portal. I say, “apparently,” because I don’t see much mention of it anywhere and, lo and behold, he’s now a Missouri Tiger.
But, hey, we’re not complaining!
Get to know: EJ Ndoma-Ogar
Hometown: Allen, TX
Previous School: Oklahoma Sooners
Position: OL
Ht/Wt: 6’3”, 310 pounds
Rivals Ranking: 5.7, 3-stars (Class of 2019)
247Composite Ranking: .9054, 4-stars (Class of 2019)
We’re not going to say much about Ndoma-Ogar’s high school highlights because they’re probably moot at this point. He’s likely a much-improved player from his high school days, and it would be hard to glean too much his tape at this point. But here they are in case you want to watch them anyway!
It is, perhaps, worth noting that Ndoma-Ogar was praised as a high-caliber run blocker who may struggle in pass protection. That scout comes from 247 Sports, from which you can find a full report here.
What they’re saying:
#Mizzou announces addition of former Oklahoma offensive lineman. This one sort of came out of nowhere https://t.co/AC2kPBnnsa

Missouri has added an offensivel lineman, EJ Ndoma-Ogar, who opted out at Oklahoma in September. He played in four games at OU in 2019 as a redshirt freshman.
— Dave Matter (@Dave_Matter) November 6, 2020
Matter later clarified that Ndoma-Ogar was a true freshman in 2019.
Mizzou adds E.J. Ndoma-Ogar, an offensive lineman who played at Oklahoma but opted out in September. Ndoma-Ogar played in four games as a true freshman in 2019 and was a four-star prospect out of Allen High School.

Welcome, EJ! M-I-Z!
(Also, here’s the current state of the 2021 class, just because.)
