4-0!
Well, if you’re going to schedule Liberty, you might as well beat them. And that’s exactly what Missouri did last night, with a 69-60 (nice) victory at Mizzou Arena. Mark Smith led the team with 17 points and the Tigers improved to 4-0 on the season.
Missouri was 0-8 from three-point range in the first half as Liberty took a 32-28 halftime lead, but the Tigers shot 5-8 from three in a huge second half, outscoring the Flames 41-28.
To be honest, this had a potential trap game written all over it, but Missouri took care of business against a team that had already beaten Mississippi State and South Carolina. Of course, we all wanted to beat this program by 100 points, but it in the end, it still got the job done.
Here are the highlights, as Tom Hart and Jon Sundvold called the game on SEC Network!

And now Missouri is undefeated heading into the Braggin’ Rights game, and it’s probably the most anticipated one in quite some time.
Wednesday night was also Cuonzo Martin’s 100th game at Mizzou, and he improved his record to 54-46. Not too bad.
And to recap, Mizzou is off to a 4-0 start with two wins over teams that have the potential to challenge for their mid-major conference title, a neutral site win over a then Top 25 opponent, and a true-road win. Well done.
This all sets up to be probably the biggest Mizzou Basketball-Football doubleheader since the UCLA hoops game and SEC Football Championship Game back in 2013.
Your Saturday plans are set.
Georgia: 11:00 a.m.
Illinois: 7:00 p.m.
“Let’s all drink up!” - Cuonzo Martin, probably.
