It seems like every Friday now, right around the end of the day, we see the Eli Drinkwitz bat signal. We all rush into a frenzy and then another in-state stud chooses Missouri.
This week, it was none other than Parkway West’s own, Ja’Marion Wayne.
A four star out of the St. Louis area, Wayne is the third commit and the second four star commit in the 2022 class.
I am humble and blessed to have the opportunity to stay close to home and play in the sec I will continue to prepare to my future with the MIZZOU TIGERS @BushHamdan @CoachDrinkwitz . I would like to thank my family and my coaches for believing in me. LETS GO TIGERS #NewZou pic.twitter.com/67KYF0IM5X

Wayne is a standout two-way player, which is why he is listed as an Athlete, but with QB/WR’s coach Bush Hamdan getting the tag in his tweet (and probably the lead recruiter), it makes me believe that he’s headed to the offensive side of the ball. He has a nice combination of size and speed that really makes it easy to see why he’s received the attention he has nationally.
What they’re saying:
We knew something big was in the works when Coach sent this one out:

It wasn’t just Drinkwitz who was excited, so was TE coach Casey Woods:

New Zou ‘22, You are on the clock...
With this being the third commitment of the 2022 class, it makes you wonder how big the metaphorical fish could be going forward for Coach Drinkwitz. This season has undoubtedly inspired some confidence statewide and given Missouri a chance to compete for some of the higher rated in-state talent. This 2022 class figures to be one of the deepest classes in a while, so the more in-state guys they can keep home, the better.
